Roll on Highway! (07/29/12)

We rolled on down the road and continued to find that the scenery was the same until we got to a place called St. Regis, Montana. It finally started to look like what we had in our minds what this area should look like. We stopped to fuel up again, and the place we stopped had this really cool gift shop! I could have stayed there looking at stuff a long time! Lots of Moose and rustic stuff, and signs with sayings on them! I got a T-Shirt there that said Montana, and has a moose on it!

As we were driving down the highway we noticed (well of course eagle eye Josh noticed), that there was a Osprey nest on top of this pole! So we turned around and stopped to get pictures, we took a little detour to get to a frontage road. We took some pictures and when we were able to get a little closer noticed that she had babies in the nest! Really neat, they were sticking their little head over the side!

Pit stop to Butte, Montana (07/29/12)

We decided that we needed some snacks for the road, and I also thought it would be neat to stop by Butte, since I have always heard that song "Long Legged Hannah from Butte Montana!" So we stopped by there and took a few pics and went into Walmart for some apples, beef jerky, string cheese, pringles, and some fruit snacks! Butte looked like it was / is a old mining town, and also looks like it still has some mining going on. And... of course Josh had to check out dates on poles!

The Next Day, Spokane Bound! (07/29/12)

So we set off the next morning, after fueling up, and filling up our "Bubba" cups with Pepsi and lots of ice (the GOOD ice to I must say!). As I said in an earlier blog, the land was very dry and looked like the plains. We were very much expecting more greenery and mountains along the way. It looked like we were traveling up a valley pretty much the whole way. There were hills & mountains to either side of us, but not in the middle! haha! I guess when you think of Montana and Idaho, you think Mountains!! Here are some more pics along the way, and getting into Montana. : )

Idaho Falls, Idaho!! (07/28/12)

We decided to stay the night in Idaho Falls, Idaho. It was a very pretty place to stay, and the Falls were very cool! We checked into our room, room #88 (thought of Jimmy, so took a pic of it)! We stayed at the Best Western Driftwood. We checked in, and then went for a walk around the falls. There was some really neat scenery and a cool park across the bridge. It was a neat place to hang out with your significant other! After our walk we stopped in at a local brewery and had some nachos and a drink. I really wanted a more fruity drink, and they only had beer and wine, so we finished there and walked across the way to Chili's and had another drink before we went back over to the room. The clerk at the front desk told us that the spa stayed open 24 hours, so when we got back to our room we decided to check it out. So, me with no swimsuit, wore Josh's shorts! The spa was really neat, it had a waterfall and the pool lighting changed colors... After the hot tub we went to bed (The bed at that motel was awesome too! My arms and shoulders didn't fall asleep, wish I could figure out what type of mattress it was!). We woke up early, and the motel served breakfast there, and then headed out.

Along the Way! (07/28/12)

We traveled up through Salt Lake City and didn't make any stops until we got a ways passed Salt Lake, and only really for bathroom breaks. The geographical area / land along the way was very prairie looking and a little different than we had expected. We were thinking that it would be a lot more green than it was, but it has been a very dry year, so maybe it is generally more green than we found. Kept driving and finally made it to Idaho!

Our Journey to Spokane (07/28/12)

So we set out from Fruita on Saturday morning, July 28th. The picture shows the route we took. We made it to Spokane, Washington on Sunday July 29th. Josh is/was scheduled to begin work on Monday, July 30th.

So Much for keeping up!

Well I stated that I was going to try and be good about keeping up my blogging! We all see how that went, however, Josh told me that since I would sporadically be going out on the road with him now off and on, that I should start a blog. I told him that I do have one, but that I haven't kept up on it. So... I will try and keep a log - blog of our travels. Josh's life is more exciting than mine usually, boy does he have stories he could tell!
